summer says i was the rich kid
summer knows it is not so
summer knows the crowd you're in with
will be here when summer goes

and nothing you can say can make me doubt her
i gave that up so she should be with me

summer says in times of plenty
past intentions are revealed

when summer takes a breather we all panic
